WivenLLM in
is a client: any MCP server can be connected, and its tools become
skills that can be used by your agents.

What is it for?

Without MCP, connecting WivenLLM to an internal tool requires development
specific. With MCP, the tool simply needs to expose a server that complies with the
standard: WivenLLM queries the server, discovers the available functions, and
they propose them to the agents.

The advantage: the MCP ecosystem is shared. One server is written for another.
The application works here, and vice versa.

Examples of what is connected like this: a ticketing system, an ERP, a tool
project management, an internal service, a proprietary document database.

Configure — administrator

Settings → Agents
, MCP servers section.

An MCP server can be declared in two ways:

Local server. WivenLLM starts the program and communicates with him
directly. We declare the command to be executed, its arguments, and its variables.
environment.

Remote server. WivenLLM connects to an HTTP address. The URL is declared.
and, where applicable, the authentication headers.

Once declared, the server is started on demand and its tools appear
in the list of skills, ready to be activated per workspace.

Life cycle

The servers are started on demand, when an agent needs it.

The administration screen displays their state and allows them to be restarted.

A server is unavailable does not prevent the agents to function: the
The corresponding tools are simply missing.

Points to consider

An MCP server runs with the permissions you give it. A server
The local server runs on your machine; a remote server receives what the agent tells it
transmit. Only install servers whose origin you know.

The data is being transferred. A remote MCP server receives the arguments that
The agent sends it to him. On a facility that must not allow anything to escape, only
Local or internal servers have their place.

Every tool consumes context. A server exposing fifty functions
This significantly complicates the choice of agent. Prefer targeted servers, and
rely on intelligent skills selection.
→ SKILLS

The errors are visible. An MCP tool that fails returns its error to
the agent, who reports it — rather than faking a success.

MCP or agent flow?

Need

Mechanism

Granting access to an external system, with the agent deciding when to use
